I completed my Bachelor’s in Music Education and Percussion Performance at Central Washington University. During this time I performed in many ensembles such as Jazz Band, Wind Ensemble, Percussion Ensemble, Marching Band, and Symphony Orchestra. I have gigged professionally on drum set since high school playing mainly rock, jazz, and funk. I have also taught drum lessons for several years and have instructed many high school drumlines around Washington State.
My approach to teaching involves discovering each student’s individual strengths and interests. I strive to constantly keep the lessons fun and entertaining, all while teaching valuable techniques to develop a mastery of the instrument. I hold myself and my students to a high standard, and always seek to inspire them to do their best.
I still practice daily and am always looking for ways to improve my technical and musical ability. I believe in very focused practice, and often play very slowly to ensure accurate and efficient mastery over a new skill. I believe that daily practice is a very important part in the development of any musician.

I started out taking piano lessons at the age of five from my Mom. When I turned eight, our church needed a drummer for the worship team. My parents, who were both worship team leaders, put me on stage with the drums and I immediately fell in love. I began taking private lessons and continued to grow my technical ability and love for music.
