I earned my Bachelor of Science from The Evergreen State College and went on to earn my Master of Music in Vocal Performance with an Advanced Certificate in Vocal Pedagogy from New York University in 2018. My specialty is musical theater but I teach all styles of music including classical, jazz, pop/rock and worship/gospel. While earning my graduate degree I began my teaching career as an Adjunct Professor of Voice at NYU. After graduation I established my private studio and began teaching for local music schools. I have worked with all levels of students from beginner to professional. I absolutely love teaching voice and performance skills.
Having a science background I use a science-based approach to teaching voice. I use my knowledge of the anatomy and mechanics of voice combined with concrete “tools” to help students experience efficient, healthy, and authentic singing. Ear training is also an integral part of any music study as my students learn to evaluate their sound to find the imbalance and make adjustments. I aim to impart a strong and healthy foundation in vocal technique to enhance my students’ performances, personal expression, and confidence in everyday life. Over time, my students develop efficient vocal production, singing and speaking that feels easy, organic, and natural. My voice lessons build a strong foundation that releases singers from vocal strain and manipulation and truly free their voices. I invite self-expression in all genres of music.
The best way to practice is to warm-up with a recording from the students’ previous lesson. This way you are practicing the adjustments we made and building new habits. This also helps with ear training as what you hear while you sing is not necessarily what the outside ear will hear. Being able to hear your voice before and after adjustments is an invaluable tool!

I began my singing career doing children's theater at the Wolf Theater Academy at the JCC in Denver, CO. I continued performing throughout my years in college at local theaters as well as university productions. I continue to pursue my performance career concurrently with my teaching career.
