I have a Bachelors in Music and Vocal Performance, and a Masters in Music and Opera Performance from The New England Conservatory of Music in Boston. I studied Opera Performance and Voice Technique with Edward Zambara at Juilliard in NYC. My Favorite roles are “Susanna” in Mozart’s Le Nozze di Figaro, “Anne Truelove” in Stravinsky’s The Rake’s Progress, “Juliet” in Gounod’s Romeo et Juliette, “Blanche” in Poulenc’s The Dialogues Of The Carmelites, “Maria” in Bernstein’s West Side Story and “Christine” in Webber’s Phantom of the Opera.
I’ve had wonderful opportunities to sing Operatic Roles, Recitals and Concerts with many Companies: Tanglewood, Banff Festival, Opera Theatre of St. Louis, Boston Opera, Boston Lyric Opera, Santa Fe Opera, Santa Barbara Opera, LA Opera, Cleveland Opera, Spoleto Opera, Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, Morse Recital Hall, NYC Opera, Roundabout, Jordan Hall, Paris Opera Hall, Paris Recital Hall, Bali Festival, Beijing Opera, Shanghai Opera, and others.
As Director and founder of The Musical Theatre Program “The Nixon Players” in Boston, we performed my original Musical “No Place Like Home”. As Musical director of “Magical Music For Life” a 501C3 non-profit Company, we toured our original shows, bringing music to Autism and Cancer Foundations, Schools, and Performance Venues all over the NYC area.
I love being a Studio Voice, Singer Songwriter and Piano teacher. I love accompanying, collaborating, instructing, learning, and watching all my students grow through music!
I studied extensively the Italian Technique of 7 pure vowel singing. I also incorporate many techniques from teachers, mentors, and colleagues over the years that I know work. I encourage pure, open, natural singing, with personalized visualization. I use diaphragmatic breathing techniques, head-chest versatility, vocalises, pitch and theory work, and body awareness techniques. I pick and suggest pieces that connect with my students. To me, NOTHING is better than a student who feels the music, and sings & plays from the heart!
My goal is for my students to be the absolute best they can be, keep besting that best, and have a blast doing it!
Two main practice techniques I use are “Space” and “Place”. “Space” meaning visualizing the open space at the top of your mouth - like the dome of the Sistine Chapel with all of its wondrous colors and intricacy, and allowing that space to open your sound up naturally. “Place” meaning where is your breath going when you sing? You need that constant flow of air to go somePLACE. The breath motivates moving forward, with conviction, purpose, feeling and emotion.

“This will be our reply to violence: to make music more intensely, more beautifully, more devotedly than ever before.” Leonard Bernstein-composer/conductor
Being a competitive All-State High School Athlete in Cross-Country Running, Swimming and Tennis gave me a competitive spirit and AH-mazing breath support! The stamina and focus I developed during those 10-milers, 500 freestyles and tight 3-setters prepared me for the discipline of Music School.
My mom is a beautiful coloratura Soprano and was a Musical Theatre Teacher for over 30 years. My dad played a mean jazz trumpet. I studied voice, piano, trumpet, theory & composition at a young age, and loved it all. After my Senior Recital I knew I wanted to be an Opera Singer. And I went for it!
