I’m a graduate student at the University of Colorado Boulder where I’m pursuing a Master of Music in cello performance. I have a Bachelor of Arts from Bard College at Simon’s Rock and a Texas teaching certificate in music education. As an avid music educator, I’ve held positions in elementary, middle and high schools in addition to summer youth orchestra programs in Kerrville and San Antonio, Texas. I have also served as adjunct professor of cello at Schreiner University and as principal cellist of Symphony of the Hills in Texas. My performance experience includes solos with orchestras as well as recitals and chamber music performances in Colorado, Massachusetts, New York, Ohio, Texas, and Alberta, Canada. During the summers, I’ve attended prestigious music festivals on scholarship and most recently attended the Evolution of the String Quartet Program at the Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity in Canada and the Kent Blossom Music Festival at Kent State University in Ohio.
Lessons are tailored to each student’s needs and abilities, and I have vast experience working with students of all ages, from elementary students to college students. I teach online and in-person lessons. I can provide private lessons for beginner-intermediate level violin and viola students and I also provide beginner-advanced cello lessons for students of all ages.
My favorite practice technique is performance practice. I think that musicians are more motivated to practice when they have a performance goal in mind. Some common performance goals include recitals, recordings, auditions, or performing for family and friends. Practice goals also makes performing easier and more pleasant for the student.

“Act as if what you do makes a difference. It does.” – William James
I grew up in a very musical family and I started the violin at the age of 5. When I was 9, I switched to cello because I loved the deep sound of the instrument. While the cello became my main instrument, I continued to learn violin and viola. When I was younger, I remember that I loved how music could tell a story and that I could show different characters through music. I was also drawn to music because I enjoyed playing for my friends and family.
