About Julia
At Fairview High School, she participated in various choirs such as Madrigals and Show Choir. Julia performed Marc Cohn’s “Walking in Memphis” at the annual Fairview talent show during her senior year and was one of three students invited to sing in the Colorado All-State Choir. She spent many hours as a teenager at her family piano, playing through her beloved Tori Amos and Marc Cohn books.
Julia attended the University of Colorado Denver and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Vocal Performance. She studied for two years at the Conservatory of Music at the University of the Pacific with an emphasis in Music Therapy. Julia completed her graduate education at Metropolitan State College in Denver.
Julia has an extensive background in church leadership and has led a large 1,000-member group in church for over 15 years. In 2016, she led music on a medical mission trip to Tegucigalpa, Honduras.
Julia volunteers to lead youth trips each summer. Recently, she started working with a group of church music leaders and musicians who travel to provide musical leadership for congregations in the metro area.
Julia’s Instructional Approach
Playing and singing music has always grounded and connected me to something greater than myself. The gift of music has carried me through difficult times and brought great peace and joy to my life.
